Chiverton Riding for the Disabled

Purchase of a field

Funds were donated to help fund the purchase of the field adjacent to Chiverton riding stables and indoor riding school. Founded over 40 years ago, the Chiverton riding for the disabled group provides riding lessons for people from the surrounding area. All the ponies and horses need to be turned out daily for exercise otherwise they would not be suitable for the disabled riders.

The charity was at risk of closing if they could not raise the money needed to buy the field. Without the use of the field, all 40 or so of their riders would not have been able to have their weekly rides, an activity which benefits them both physically and mentally.
